Get your skin in tip top shape in time for Summer

We are officially summer time but most of us have weeks before our Summer holiday’s, I have 8 and a bit 🙂 so you have time to get that skin silky soft , glowing and feeling incredible. No point investing in super cute summer clothes, buying the best of make up’s if you don’t look after the foundation (your skin) first, so today I bring you my top tips (only four) to have your skin feeling and looking incredible and the best part of all is that you will see real differences from week one but if you keep going for 6-8 weeks you will reveal a more glowing, softer and silky skin.

#1 / Drink Water , This is a simple step yet one may miss out on, Don’t drink water every day, 6-8 glasses at the least, water is not just super to hydrate your skin but it is super for you, Water flushes out toxins from the body, it aids digestion, promotes weight loss and is can even cur a headache (next time the heads pounding re hydrate with a few glasses of water before reaching for the pain killers).

#2/ Dry Body Brush, Once you begin you will not ever want to stop! Do this daily, is should take you no more than 3-4 minutes but will see fantastic results in how you skin looks and feels. Work in gentle circular, upward motions, then longer, smoother strokes. Always begin at the ankles in upwards movements towards the heart, Increasing the circulation to the skin can reduce the appearance of cellulite, body brushing helps shed dead skin cells (and encourages new cell renewal) and is great to stop ingowing hairs. Buy a natural bristle long handles brush and this will last you 12+ months, wash after each use.

#3/ Shower / Bath , Most of us shower or bath in water that is a little warmer than we should, turn the temperature down a little and try alternating the temperature in the shower from hot to cold as this will further invigorate the skin and stimulate blood circulation, bring more blood to the outer layers of the skin.

#4/ Moisturise , It is a step I know a lot skip due to time being an issue or not seeing it as a step needed but if you want exceptionally soft, glowing skin this summer, then do not skip this step, I apply body lotion or a body oil daily after my shower, I apply before I dry off because once dry, I find I use too much and this takes time to sink in, time I do not have early in the morning.

Valentines Photo Shoot with Boudoir Darlings

Hello Clare with the Hair readers, today I share with you images from a photo shoot with Boudoir Darlings I did back in February to celebrate Valentines, so well time I shared these ones with you 🙂 I did share the 1st shoot I did with the lovely Shauna at Boudoir Darlings which was the the Charity Calender shoot with proceeds going to Clare’s Wish Foundation (not my charity or connected in any way other than this) A really great charity who do wonders for so many people with life limiting illnesses by granting wishes for them.

Boudoir Darlings is more that just a photo shoot, it is an experience and one that will leave you feeling empowered, beautiful, sexy, feminine and you get to have a real pampering along the way with the super talented style, hair and make up team. Women embrace ‘granny hair’ trend

Are you loving of loathing the current Granny Hair trend?

Whether you sprout the odd grey hair, spend hours eradicating them or let your silver locks flow free, the latest hair trend is good news for women everywhere.

Grey hair is on trend with silver hair lovers the world over posting images on social media under the hashtag #grannyhair.

Instagram is awash with the grey haired images – from beauty shots featuring professional models to selfies uploaded by proud grey haired Instagrammers.

I have to say I love it but not sure I would be brave enough to try it myself, but what do you think?

If you are going to take on this Hair Trend then ror this grey hair trend, option one is to slowly reduce the amount of colour and gracefully allow the grey to appear (if you are going grey naturally) and option two is to add lighter ash highlights to enhance and complement the grey tones.

The Benefit to great Brows!

Turning your brows to wows! This is an entire post dedicated to one incredible brow bar!

So not like me but I have had such a wonder experience here that I feel I must share this with you all!!

Let me begin by telling you a little about the lady who looks after this incredible brow bar, Ash has 10+years experience within the beauty industry, she studied in Pembroke College Limerick and spent the last 5 years managing Aleisha Jane Beauty, a brow boutique in Sydney which featured in Vogue and Grazia. Aleisha Jane Beauty is one of the most successful salons in Sydney and with Ash managing it is no surprise.. They were named as one of the Top 5 Brow Tamers in Sydney 2014 by Urban List, Pop in for a chat with Ash as she is a fountain of beauty knowledge and will give you honest yet great advise.

So lets tell you about this full service

First step is brow mapping, this is individualise to each person as no two brows are the same. Brow mapping consists of measuring 3 points; the start point of the brow slims the nose and brings the eyes closer together, the 2nd is the arch point which opens up the eyes and the end point compliments the overall brow and heightens the cheekbones. Ais insists that tinting is a must for everyone as it fills in gapping in the brows, gives a smooth defined finish, and you use less product when filling in the brows so it looks less false. it’s like ‘waking up with make -up’.

An azulene oil is used to protect and soothe the skin before the wax is applied, the oil prevents the wax from adhering to the skin so that the wax forms around the hair meaning less sensitivity, redness and no pulling of the skin – high quality creme wax used – Benefit own brand – while Ash was performing the treatment she applied ‘It’s Potent Eye Cream’ as an Intensive Mask – combats fine lines, dark circles and puffiness leaving your eyes hydrated and fresh for the day ahead – Acoolala (Aloe Vera Gel) applied after to soothe the skin, I have a little pot of this wonderful stuff and I will be back for more.

Once you’re finished the girls conceal any redness (to be fair I had none!), style the brow with the famous Browzing a wax and powder compact used to style the brow and touch up your make up so you’re ‘catwalk ready’ Recommended for at home use , Browzing is the number one brow product (a wax and powder combo) used to create that perfect defined brow , they also have Gimme Brow a brow mascara great for in between your tinting to add a little colour and ideal for a modern day busy woman.

I am so please with the results and after years of getting my brows done I can honestly say these are the best yet! Ash tells me that to get they ‘perfect’ she will train my brows over the next 9-10 months but after the first time I am so impressed that I can honestly say I would not let anyone else touch my brows.

Now not many of us need an excuse to eat Chocolate yet so many people deprive ourselves of this delicious stuff , well deprive yourself no more!! because Scientists have created a new chocolate bar that will slow down the ageing process.

“By using the antioxidant which keeps flamingos pink, a Cambridge University affiliated lab behind ‘Esthechoc’ claims the chocolate improves the skin’s physiology, and brought skin biomarkers of a 50 to 60-year-old back to the levels of a 20 or 30-year-old.

“Clinical trials showed that volunteers who ate the chocolate daily for four weeks had less inflammation in their blood and an increased blood supply to skin tissue, according to scientists. These affects were thanks to a boost in the level of antioxidants and increased blood circulation, which prevents wrinkles.” according to the Independent online. Each bar will have 38 calories and will hit retailers in the next few months. Cambridge beauty bar describes its target audiences as: “elegant, educated and affluent’ city-dwelling women in their 30s, and businessmen “to support their appearance in a stressful environment and on their business travels.”

Boudoir Darlings 2015 Calender

A post to tell you to keep an eye out for The Calender of 2015!! This is the Boudoir Darlings of 2015 Charity Calender. The story begins with a group of 10 incredible ladies and Shauna of Boudoir darlings,we are all different shapes, heights, hair colour etc but all 100% fabulous and beyond beautiful inside and out who came together to create what I think will be the calender of 2015!

A couple of weeks ago Boudoir Darlings began a competition to find ‘The Face’ of Boudoir Darlings and they invited ladies to submit entries for themselves or a friend could nominated someone, telling them why you or she should be ‘The Face’ of this fantastic company and what they stand for. Boudoir Darlings ran this competition for 5-6 weeks and on the 1st of November they named ‘The Face’, and it was only me!! 🙂 Crazy! totally not expected and a fantastic surprise. I could not compose myself, I was ecstatic to say the least. 2014 has been one hell of a year for all the right reason’s and I could not believe this , another amazing thing was happening for me. I was so happy I even had a little cry, odd I know but they were tears of joy. This then became the best of the best , when Shauna announced that she was going one step further with this, and she was going to name nine other ladies on top of me to create the calender 🙂 and what a fabulous decision this was.

Rewind to the 9th of November and Shauna of Boudoir Darlings, invited all 10 of us, 10 ladies who never meet, knew nothing of each other, to come to her stunning studio to meet and talk through the plan and vision for the calender 🙂 Great day, all of us clicked, no drama’s, nothing only smiles, laughter and beaming ladies, we were all thrilled with Shauna and her team’s vision and we were all blown away that they had chosen us for such a fantastic project.

On top of this the Calender was all going to help a fantastic cause, A charity that helps so many and do incredible things for Adults with not long left in this world, Clare’s Wish Foundation: http://www.clareswishfoundation.com/

Then move onto Sunday, the 16th of November where once again we all headed to Shauna’s studio to live what was the most wonderful day, we had a team of hair stylists, a team of incredible make up artists, we had the most perfect styling team and Shauna who made each and every one of us feel like a super model in front of her camera, she worked her socks off on 10 individual shoots and a group shoot, it was a long day for all involved but from my point of view, it was well worth it.

Today this Calender is ready and Boudoir Darlings has partnered with Clare’s Wish Foundation (the only charity in Ireland granting a last “Wish” for Adults with a terminal or life Threatening Condition) so all monies raised will go to this great cause.

The ladies of Boudoir Darlings 2015 Charity Calender and I are so thrilled to be part of a project that celebrates ladies in all their forms and the icing on the cake is, that this all goes to help Clare’s Wish raise much needed funds so they can do what they do best and this is grant incredible wishes.

National UK Blog Awards 2015

So back in November the public voting begun in the UK Blog Awards 2015 and I received a nomination in the food & lifestyle categories 😃😃😃

Being nominated in these awards was incredible to me and I have been beaming ever since , you my readers , facebook friends , Twitter followers , work colleagues, friends and family begun voting and it was just one vote per person allowed, multiple votes from the same person were not counted.

And today I received the notification that my blog has made it through to the finals , so now all voting it’s up to the industry experts but I will be attending the UK Blog Awards 2015, will meet many massive bloggers and possibility best of all, the bloggers goodie bag 🙂 😂
I love to cook, I love to feed people and I love that I am in the top ten for food blogs 2015, this is crazy!!
Last week I began writing for RSVP magazine with my Tasty Thursday, this will be on RSVP every week so keep an eye out for this and video’s I will be submitting for their online publication.
