Trend ALERT: How to wear the blanket scarf

Burberry’s monogrammed ponchos have certainly stolen our hearts on the autumn/winter 2014 catwalk, but here’s how to translate the blanket scarf into your real-life wardrobe.

Draped nonchalantly over one’s shoulders, blanket scarves certainly look easy to pull-off, but what happens when a gust of wind threatens? and lets face it, we will have more than a few gusts to contend with, Or one gets jostled in a crowd? To avoid constantly tugging at one’s cape-like cover-up, there is a simple super easy solution,  the belt.! Cinching in the waist not only adds outfit security when on the move, it highlights the fact you do have a womanly figure under that mass of woollen material and depending on the belt, you can tie in your bag, shoes and additional accessories..

Pairing a poncho with anything fluid down below will simply wash out your entire figure. Let your blanket do the talking and your legs stay shapely by wearing skinny jeans. You know it makes sense when Miroslava Duma who is never seen in denim, drapes her Burberry over some stonewashed skinnies.
